Cine field plunged in grief as lyricist Vaali passes away

Vaali, popular lyricist in Tamil cinema, passed away. He was aged 82. 

Vaali’s original name was Rangarajan.  Vaali was born in Srirangam in 1931.  During initial stages of his career, Vaali worked as artiste in the All India Radio.  Then, Vaali turned a lyricist in 1958. 
Vaali wrote lyrics for Tamil movie ‘Nallavan Vaazhvaan’ starring MGR.  Then, he became one among MGR’s favorites. 
Vaali had written lyrics for number of movies.  Vaali had written lyrics for about 10, 000 songs. 
Vaali had already undergone hearty surgery. Recently, Vaali’s health condition worsened following contagious disease in lungs and accumulation of phlegm.  Vaali had been receiving treatment in Apollo Hospital, Teynampet, Chennai. 

Vaali had been receiving treatment in Apollo Hospital for 40 days.  Few days back, Vaali developed breathing problem, and he was put on ventilator support. 
Vaali passed away this evening at around 5 pm not responding to treatment.  Lyricist Vaali started writing lyrics in 1958, and had so far done lyrics for about 1000 movies.  Vaali had received Padma Shri Award and national awards.  Vaali penned the story and dialogues for few movies.  Vaali contributed to Tamil literature through creations including book titled ‘Avathara Purushan’. 

Vaali won acclaim as actor through roles in movies as Poikkal Kudhirai, Sathya, Hey Ram, and Paarthaale Paravasam. 
Vaali’s wife passed away few years back.

Vaali had been friendly to everybody without age discrimination and ego clash.  Vaali’s death has plunged Tamil cine field in state of shock.
