Tamil yesteryear actress Kanaka passed away in Kerala, today, (July 30). She was suffering from cancer, from past seven months. The actress was under palliative care in Alappuzha, Kerala, where she last breathed.
The hospital sources said, Kanaka was not showing any interest and denied meeting anyone. Kanaka was diagnosed with cancer in early January this year.
Kanaka was the daughter of Tamil yesteryear actor Devika, and she started her acting career at the age of sixteen. Actress made her debut from Karakattakaran in 1989. She has acted in more than 40 films in Tamil and Malayalam as female lead.
Her last movie in Tamil was Simha Rashi in 1999. The actress in her career has acted with top stars like Rajinikanth, Mammootty, Mohanlal, Vijaykanth, Prabhu and Sarath Kumar.
Kanaka had left cinema arena after the death of her mother Devika. She was last seen in Malayalam movie Kusuruthy in 2004.
