Veeram’s music rights sold

As expected, Veeram’s music rights have been sold for a huge amount but the exact price it had fetched has not been disclosed by the filmmakers.

Times Now Groups’ music label Junglee has acquired the music rights and will be marketing it.

Veeram is getting ready to hit the screens for Pongal next year and the much anticipated audio launch of this movie will be done quite soon, say sources close to the film unit.

Directed by Siva and music set to tune by Devi Sri Prasad, the film has Ajith, Tammannah, Viddharth, Bala, Santhanam and others are in the star cast.

Vanakkam Chennai Movie Review

A flower bouquet to debut director Kiruthiga Udhayanidhi for bringing out a fresh, colourful and youthful movie. The presentation is really excellent and kudos to the lady.

The story is all about the love-hatred relationship that the village-based Shiva and London-return Priya Anand share. According to the story, Priya Anand arrives from London after her engagement. How she gets to meet Shiva and what ensues next forms the rest of the story.

Priya Anand is really gorgeous and energetic. She proves herself as an actress in the very first scene where she makes the taxi driver to change the song played in the cab and the debut director has also managed to capture our attention with such scenes.

If Priya Anand gets a good variety of roles, she could well become the next Sri Devi of Tamil cinema. Shiva and Santhanam’s comedy really creates a laugh riot and we end up coming out of the theatres laughing to our heart’s content.

The biggest plus of Vanakkam Chennai is Anirudh’s music. When the Engadi Porandha song was screened, not one of the audience walked out. It is not the music that is different but the way it was picturized as well. Richard’s camerawork should be lauded.

Despite there being some illogical scenes, we can do away with them considering the genre of Vanakkam Chennai.

Vanakkam Chennai meet our expectations and fans won’t be disappointed.

Endrendrum Punnagai songs on top

Within 24 hours of its release on the net, the songs from the album Endrendrum Punnagai have topped the iTunes charts. The film’s music director Harris Jayaraj had revealed this on a social networking site and thanked everyone for making it a grand success.

No doubt, the songs have all come out very well and some of it are sure to bust the charts.

Harris is completely elated over this as it happens to be yet another feather in his already decorated cap!

Shankar feels he missed it…

Director Shankar had produced some of the best movies in his career including Imsai Arasan 23aam Pulikesi and Eeram through his production house S Pictures. The director had given an opportunity to his assistants to prove their mettle.

The director, after watching the latest blockbusters like soodhu Kavvum, Moodar Koodam and Naduvula Konjam Pakkatha Kanom, feels bad for missing out on the opportunity to produce these films.

It may be mentioned here that Shankar had always produced small budget films and all these films mentioned above were small budget as well.

Arya, Nayantara, Jai and Nazriya Nazim starred Raja Rani review released this Friday [Sep 27] in theaters near you.

Story:

Raja Rani, the tale of two youngsters Arya [John] and Nayantara [Regina], who uninterestingly get married due to the fathers alliance. Life of John and Regina goes on like Tom and Jerry show with ego clashes between them. Meanwhile, they unknowingly meet up with Jai and Nazriya Nazim, another new couple, what’s their role? Will John and Regina sort out their problems? Will form the crux of Raja Rani…

Performances:

Arya has delivered outstanding performance till date. As John, Arya has shown variance in presentation besides his good looks. Especially emotional scenes and second half are well handled.

Nayantara has given a worth comeback, as Regina she seems to have portrayed what she is in real life. Nayantara’s performance is one of the best in her career. As a sensitive, soft-hearted girl with loads of attitude, who even cries when things go wrong, is watchable on screen.

Jai as an innocent customer care executive seems convincing in his role, though not long-lasting.

Nazriya Nazim has given a superior performance compared to Neeram. The diva who is just17 years old improving her act film-to-film.

Sathyaraj is apt as father of Nayantara so as her college friend played by Misha Ghoshal. Sathyan is at his best as Jai’s friend thus Arya’s friend Santhanam, who excelled with his witty one-liners and comic timing besides an emotional advice.

Technical Analysis:

Atlee being debutant director proved his mettle. Though Raja Rani is quite predictable script, director managed to stick audiences with his meaty screenplay and kudos to his choice of star cast.

GV Prakash Kumar’s music and background scores are extremely well and supported the simple narration of Atlee at its best.

George C. Williams’s cinematography is good every scene is shot to fine-looking and keep up with the costumes designed by Deepali and Chaitanya Rao.

Anthony L. Ruben’s editing works are perfect though movie appears to be lengthy yet no complaints.

Analysis:

Raja Rani is a simple, feel good romantic entertainer by director Atlee. Arya holds the film with his substantial performance and together with Santhanam he brought theater down with laughs. Nayanthara is glamorous, while Jai and Nazriya Nazim performed equally better.

Despite the fact that RajaRani is not so preachy, it delivers a good message through narrative. Atlee’s confidence had worked big time as the script unfolding is only done through its story.

Final Verdict:

An emotional journey of Raja Rani is fun to watch…

Raja Rani is the ever biggest release for Arya, which has opened with house-full bookings in multiplexes for all the shows for the weekend. Produced by Murugadoss Producions and Fox Star Studios, Raja Rani is receiving rave reviews from audiences.

Being debutant director Atlee managed to stick audiences to chairs with his screenplay and one-liners though the genre is different. GV Prakash’s music is well supported by George C. Williams’s camera.

Actress Aishwarya Rai raises hand to slap fan as he falls on her

Actress Aishwarya Rai is brand ambassador for Kalyan Jewelers.  Two days back, actress Aishwarya Rai went for inauguration of jewelry shop in Ludhiana, Punjab. 

Since it had already been publicized that Aishwarya Rai is to turn up for inauguration of jewelry shop, a huge crowd thronged the place. 

As Aishwarya Rai turned up for inauguration of the jewelry shop, there was stampede among the crowd.  Fans pounced upon Aishwarya Rai with curiosity to touch her.  Security personnel supported Aishwarya Rai with their hands.  As a fan fell upon her, Aishwarya Rai raised her hands to slap him. Due to that, there was furor in the place.

An angry Aishwarya Rai cancelled press meet to be held there.  As Aishwarya Rai was leaving, a reporter approached her for comment.

Then, Aishwarya Rai said ‘This is the first time I am visiting Ludhiana.  Fans in Ludhiana have exceeding love for me.’

'War Chhod...' can have same impact like 'Rang De...': Soha

Actress Soha Ali Khan believes that her upcoming film "War Chhod Na Yaar" has the potential to have an impact on the public just like her 2006 film "Rang De Basanti" did.

"We hope that when the audiences leave the theatre, they will not just talk but also do something. Like people accepted the message of 'Rang De Basanti' and actually took to roads to protest. We feel this film also has similar potential," Soha said here Tuesday.

"There is a very beautiful message. The war does not benefit us and the film will tell you whom does it benefit and it will also tell you how to stop the war," she added.

The 34-year-old says that the war-comedy is a very realistically shot film.

"It is realistic cinema. We haven't used lights for night scenes, instead all the lighting was of torches. It was very good," she said.

"War..." also stars Javed Jaffrey, Sharman Joshi and Sanjay Mishra. Soha enjoys doing comedy films more than the serious ones and says doing comedy in the presence of such stars was very easy.

"It was interesting because for a serious film you have to stay in the mood, sit in your van alone. But in a comedy film you can interact with everyone on the sets, you don't need to concentrate much, just learn your lines," she said.

"When you have such great comic actors like Javed Jaffrey, Sanjay Mishra and Sharman, it becomes very easy because half the acting is reacting. So, I enjoyed and one month just flew by," added Soha who plays a journalist in the film.

Aishwarya Rai working hard for 'Happy Anniversary'

Actress Aishwarya Rai is returning to the arclights with Abhishek Bachchan in "Happy Anniversary" and the film's producer says she will be back on the big screen in the same avatar as seen in "Dhoom 2".

Aishwarya's grunge look and size zero in that hit action-thriller became a rage at that time.

"Aishwarya is working hard for the film. She is working hard to lose weight. I can say she will be seen as 'Dhoom Girl' in the film," the film's producer Doshi told said.

Doshi, who has produced films like "Bawandar" and "Aankhen", said it was the script that convinced the actress who had taken a sabbatical after becoming a mother.

Set to go on the floors early next year, "Happy Anniversary" will be directed by Prahlad Kakkar and will hit the screens next year itself.

"I share a good relationship with Mr. Bachchan but it was the script that convinced Aishwarya and Abhishek. I think Abhi and Ash are the ideal couple and they both look good together. The film will be widely shot in South Africa," said Doshi

Kochadaiyaan single song release

‘Engae Pogudho Vaanam’, single song from Superstar Rajinikanth’s Kochadaiiyaan is set to entertain listeners from 7th of October 2013. S.P. Balasubrahmanyam has sung this song penned by Vairamuthu in AR Rahman’s composition.

Sony Music Company who has bought Kochadaiiyaan audio marketing rights, confirmed the news in their twitter page, “2013 Magnum Opus,Superstar Rajinikanth starrer, #Kochadaiiyaan’s first single ‘ENGAE POGUDHO VAANAM’ releases Oct 7th.”

Soundarya Ashwin directed Kochadaiyaan is being produced by Eros International and Media One Global Entertainment banners. Deepika Padukone, veteran actress Shobana, Jackie Shroff, Nasser, Sarath Kumar, Rukmini Vijay Kumar, Aadhi are part of Kochadaiyaan’s cast.

Remya Nambeesan is introduced in Tamil again

Remya Nambeesan, the South Indian actress who has acted in notable Tamil movies such as Pizza, Kullanari Koottam and Raman Thediya Seethai, to name a few, is going to be taking up the role of a singer. The actress has already rendered her voice in a few songs in Malayalam.

Music director D. Imman takes the privilege of introducing her as a singer in Pandiyanaadu, which is a Vishal starrer directed by Suseenthiran. As reported earlier Remya is set to sing a song in Rummy which is a Vijay Sethupathy starrer. But as per the latest update she would be singing for Pandiyanaadu ahead of Rummy.

Composer Imman took to his social media space to express his happiness for introducing Remya as a singer.

Thuppakki Murugadoss' 'Holiday' plans

It was reported earlier that the latest Vijay blockbuster, ‘Thuppakki’, is being remade in Hindi by AR. Murugadoss himself and will have Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead.

Well, the latest news is that the movie has been titled ‘Holiday’. The title does have a connection with the story as the protagonist comes down to Mumbai on a holiday where he bumps into sleeper cells and the rest of the story is history.

Pritam will apparently compose the music for the film. It would be interesting to see how the back ground scoring would be, considering the nail biting sequences that would feature in the film. Holiday is being filmed at the moment, and the team is aiming for a January 2014 release.

Samantha sidelines Kajal and Amala Paul

Samantha is currently playing Naga Chaitanya’s lead girl in the Telugu flick Manam. Interestingly, this film will have the three generations of the Akkineni family – Nageswara Rao, Nagarjuna and Naga Chaitanya – in the lead roles.

There was a stiff competition among the leading heroines in Tollywood; particularly among Samantha, Kajal Agarwal and Amala Paul to play Naga Chaitanya’s heroine in this flick.
